Bareksa launches Bareksa Prioritas

INDONESIA-based platform for mutual fund investment Bareksa launched Bareksa Prioritas which is intended for high net worth (HNW) individuals who own financial assets of at least 14.3 billion (US$1 million) to facilitate access to digital wealth management.

Bareksa is also collaborating with digital investment advisory provider, Jagartha Advisors, to help users optimise their investments.

According to Credit Suisse Research Institute, in 2017, there were 110,000 Indonesians in the HNW category and the number is forecast to increase by 10% each year.

Bareksa co-founder Karaniya Dharmasaputra says, “Technology has become a part of our daily lives, not least for the upper-middle segment that have taken part in the phenomenon of digitalisation. So, it is important for wealth management industry players to start making digital approaches and innovations in the market share of people in the upper-middle segment.”

HNW users in Bareksa Prioritas with a minimum deposit of five billion rupiah (US$335,000) will be provided with services such as research reports, customer loyalty programmes, and access to investment advisors through Jagartha Advisors.

Jagartha Advisors co-founder and chairman Ari Adil says that in digital wealth management services, players need to focus on how they can provide good service experiences, especially for these high net-worth customers. These services will include face-to-face discussion that are still needed in investment consulting services.

“There are times when investors will face significant investment risks, thus involving their emotions, worries, and fears. This is the where the role of traditional investment advisors is still very much needed to provide logical consultations, as well as emotional assistance.

“For this reason, we welcome Bareksa’s move that has involved us in providing investment consultations to its users.”

To date, Bareksa has 1.2 trillion rupiah (US$80.4 million) invested via its platform with 200,000 users.
