Grab Indonesia appoints ex-police chief Badrodin Haiti as president commissioner

• Haiti will oversee and ensure Grab Indonesia’s corporate governance and long-term sustainability
• Haiti has served as Deputy Chief of the National Police  and Chief of the National Police

GRAB, a Southeast Asian ride-hailing app, on Jan 30 announced that Badrodin Haiti (pic) has joined the company as president commissioner of Grab Indonesia, based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In this new role, Haiti will oversee and ensure Grab Indonesia’s corporate governance and long-term sustainability in a supervisory role over Grab’s board of directors.

“Haiti has had a distinguished career in the Indonesia police force, serving the people of Indonesia for 35 years, and most recently as Chief of the Indonesian National Police, during which time he oversaw and made significant contributions in the areas of anti-terrorism, security, intelligence, and traffic management. He brings extensive experience working with government stakeholders and ensuring aligned interests among different stakeholders.

“As the technology and ride-hailing sectors evolve in Indonesia, Haiti will play a guiding role to ensure Grab contributes constructively to the implementation of new transport regulations and safety guidelines,” said Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata.

These values closely match mine, and I will ensure that Grab continues to be a shining example of corporate accountability and citizenship. Prior to joining Grab, Haiti served as the Chief of the National Police from April 2015 to July 2016. He has also served as the Deputy Chief of the National Police from March 2014 to April 2015.

He completed his education at the Police Academy (AKPOL) in 1982 and the Police Higher Education College (PTIK) in 1989.

Prior to assuming responsibility in the two top positions in the National Police, Haiti served as Head of Provincial Police in four provinces including Banten, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sumatera and East Java.

Indonesia is Grab’s largest market in Southeast Asia. Grab will continue to expand to more cities in Indonesia, grow its transport services, and invest in GrabPay as a mobile payments platform.
