- Offers high-growth investments for Angel and Sophisticated investors
- Supports M’sia’s focus on alternative funding for early-stage companies
pitchIN, Malaysia’s digital fundraising and investment hub, has announced the launch of Malaysia’s first Equity Crowdfunding (ECF)-focused microfund campaign by Spartan Ives Capital, a registered Venture Capital firm with the Securities Commission Malaysia, managing US$61.5 million (RM275 million) in Assets Under Management (AUM).
In a statement, pitchIN highlighted that the Spartan Elevation Fund represents a significant milestone in Malaysia’s financial innovation landscape, offering high-growth investment opportunities with a low capital commitment exclusively for Angel and Sophisticated investors. Previously, participation in a venture capital fund was limited to Sophisticated investors, requiring a minimum investment of US$56,000 (RM250,000).
“With the Spartan Elevation Fund, we’re creating an innovative and accessible investment opportunity that combines cutting-edge technology with traditional investment strategies. This microfund lowers the barriers for investors, enabling them to back some of Malaysia’s most promising high-growth companies led by visionary and hard-working entrepreneurs,” said Christopher Wong, director and founding partner of Spartan Ives Capital.
“We believe this fund will not only empower local businesses but also drive impactful growth in Malaysia’s economy by connecting investors with the next generation of industry leaders,” he added.
The Spartan Elevation Fund is dedicated to driving growth by investing in local businesses hosted on the pitchIN platform. While its core strategy centres on ECF investment opportunities, the fund retains flexibility to explore and pursue other high-potential ventures beyond the pitchIN ecosystem. This approach ensures a balanced investment strategy, blending targeted support for crowdfunding companies with the adaptability to seize broader market opportunities.
“We are delighted to introduce this ECF-focused microfund on our platform. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to enhancing investor access to high-potential startups,” said Sam Shafie, co-founder and CEO of pitchIN.
“The microfund campaign not only allows Angel and Sophisticated investors to build a diverse portfolio but also eliminates the time-consuming process of identifying investment opportunities, as the VC handles this on their behalf. This approach accelerates the growth of Malaysia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while providing investors with a more seamless and efficient investment experience,” he added.
The launch of the Spartan Elevation Fund aligns with Malaysia’s increasing focus on supporting entrepreneurial ventures and providing alternative funding mechanisms for early-stage companies. Investors can learn more about the fund on pitchIN’s platform.
