Tech Trailblazers: TechInnovation 2023 spotlights leading innovators

TechInnovation 2023, IPI’s (Innovation Partner for Impact) flagship event in SIngapore, returns for an eleventh edition as Asia’s premier technology-matching platform.

With technology at the core, the innovation catalyst and subsidiary of Enterprise Singapore aims to connect industry leaders, entrepreneurial innovators, technology seekers and providers to discover new technologies, explore technology commercialisation and foster collaboration within the global innovation ecosystem.

In 2023, TechInnovation delves into topics including enhancing the planet’s health, preserving well-being, and applying artificial intelligence to healthcare. Themed “Sustainable Urban Living”, the exhibition and conference will showcase over a hundred groundbreaking technologies shaping a future focused on sustainability and health.

Featured innovations include:

  1. Matex: Synbiotics cleaning solution
Matex has created an eco-friendly, long-lasting cleaning solution combining a cleaning agent with prebiotics and probiotics (healthy food), used in some Singapore hospitals. They've also designed a remote spectrometer for chemical identification in various industries.
  2. HY M&E and IES Ltd: Transforming building sustainability
Two pioneering companies, HY M&E and IES Ltd, have created super-smart technology enabling buildings to consume net-zero energy. HY M&E has essentially created a digital twin building to promote eco-friendliness, while IES Ltd has developed software for designing buildings that prioritise decarbonisation, ensuring minimal environmental impact by conserving energy.
  3. SunGreenH2: Pioneering Green Hydrogen Production
SunGreenH2 has developed specialised electrolyser materials that improve the efficiency of green hydrogen production. This eco-friendly hydrogen can be utilised to produce fuel for cars and cost-effective electricity for homes. Customers who have used their products recently showcased a highly efficient AEM electrolyser in Germany and have conducted tests on their electrodes, confirming their reliability.
  4. Nanolumi: Advancing Medicine and Imaging
Nanolumi has developed tiny nanoparticles designed to help biomedical practitioners in delivering medicine or drugs to specific parts of our body for improved well-being. When utilised in imaging, these particles enhance the clarity of internal scans, aiding doctors in accurately diagnosing and prescribing the appropriate treatment. Notably, these nanoparticles are customisable to suit specific functionalities, exhibit enhanced brightness, and deliver quicker response times compared to commercially available bio-imaging particles.

Additionally, 14 Institutes of Higher Learning from the region are collaborating to share their latest research and development efforts. These include AI-baseTech Trailblazers: TechInnovation 2023 spotlights leading innovatorsd technology for pose estimation without physical markers, enhancing safety in settings like children's centres, swimming pools, and public transport by detecting unusual behaviour in surveillance videos. There's also innovation in solar cells that support plant growth and power generation, suitable for installation on building windows.

Wong Lup Wai (pic), CEO of IPI, commented, “TechInnovation 2023 will showcase the latest high-tech inventions that can usher in a more sustainable and ecoTech Trailblazers: TechInnovation 2023 spotlights leading innovators-friendly world, safeguarding our well-being for future generations.
