Celcom kicks off Malay-language mobile web miniseries

- Escape’s original Malay production goes live on mobile devices
- Looking into crowdsourced and user-generated content too
CELCOM Axiata Bhd has launched a 13-episode miniseries Ceciter: Projek Cari Bini on its Escape personal entertainment platform, which users can watch directly on their mobile devices.
Ceciter: Projek Cari Bini features a prominent Malaysian cast of Wan Hanafi Su, Shafiq Kyle, Issey Titan, Ika Nabella, Ariff Sumbu and more, Celcom said in a statement.
The 13 episode mini-web series will run via Escape for two months, with its first and second episode having been released on March 11, and is complimentary for Escape customers.
Subsequently, the third episode will be released on March 18, followed with a new episode released every Monday and Wednesday, the company said.
“This is an experiment in trying out a new genre of short and simple clips, that will eventually evolve into collaborative efforts with other partners to include crowdsourcing and user-generated original content,” said Celcom Axiata chief of sales and marketing officer Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin.
“As Celcom continues its focus on enhancing greater customer experience, we are committed to provide more desirable content and superior products and services,” he added.

The Ceciter: Projek Cari Bini series begins with war veteran Daud Bade (Wan Hanafi Su) dreaming of his late wife urging him to find a new and young wife. He embarks on a journey to find true love, encountering numerous trials and challenges which include his old nemesis.
