Dell inspires with new Inspiron line and gaming monitors

DELL has announced a slew of new devices that include updates to its Inspiron 5000 and 7000 as well as a pair of gaming monitors.

Joining the Inspiron family is the new Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 (7386) a 13-inch device that has expansive views with a thin-bezel screen thanks to a new 2.7mm miniaturised webcam that is said to offer better performance in low light. It is said to leverage on premium features that include an Intel 8th Generation U series processors as well as a thermal flow to expel heat without scorching your thighs.

The new 2-in-1 also enlists the help of both Microsoft’s Cortana and Amazon’s Alexa so users can create lists, set reminders, ask about the weather and more with just the sound of their voice.

Another model introduced was the new Inspiron 13-inch laptop (7380) that is available in two colours: Platinum Silver and Pink Champagne.

When it is time to put away the spreadsheets, the laptop transforms into an entertainment centre thanks to Dell Cinema which features CinemaColor, CinemaStream and CinemaSound features to ensure better visuals, louder audio and smoother streaming of video content.

Equipped with an Intel 8th Generation Quad Core processors with Intel HD graphics that provide power when you need it.

Not to be outdone, Dell’s also launched two additional models in the Inspiron 5000 range. The Inspiron 14 5000 2-in-1 (5482) is said to hold many top line features including thermal routing and narrow borders. Like the other 2-in-1 model it too runs on Intel’s 8th Generation U series processors.

Apart from that, you get USB Type-C ports to power the device, this is a first for the Inspiron 5000 series. It also has an optional Nvidia GeForce MX130 discrete graphics card for more powerful performance.

Finally, there is the Inspiron 14-inch laptop (5480) available in Platinum Silver. It too has USB Type-C ports that provide power delivery and display support. For added security, there is an optional fingerprint reader that is integrated on the power button.

Within the laptop, you get up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, various storage options that include solid state drives (SSD) and dual drives. There is also optional Nvidia GeForce MX150 discrete graphics card and optional backlit keyboard.

Hot on the heels of the Dell G series of gaming laptops, the company also expanded its portfolio of gaming monitors with its 24-inch (S2419HGF) FHD and 27-inch (S2719DGF) QHD resolution. Both of these models offer fast refresh rates (144Hz for the 24-inch model and 155Hz for the 27-inch model).

Thanks to AMD FreeSync, gamers can come to appreciate the rapid one millisecond response time that ensures games appear silky smooth and correspond with the player’s actions, reducing input lag.

The displays have fully adjustable features for height, tilt and swivel to let users adjust their viewing preference to accommodate their long hours of gaming.

In terms of pricing and availability for the products, the Inspiron 13 7000 (7368) 2-in-1 and Inspiron 13 7000 (7380) are priced at RM4699 and RM3759 respectively. The second Inspiron series, the Inspiron 14 5000 (5482) 2-in-1 and Inspiron 14 5000 (5480) will be available at RM2,919 and RM2,869 respectively.

As for the gaming monitors the 24-inch (S2419HGF) and 27-inch (S2719DGF) are priced at RM979 and RM2,009.
