- Only available for sale online in partnership with Lazada Indonesia
HONGKONG-based Infinix Mobile launches its Infinix S2 PRO in Indonesia on May 3. The smartphone is said to be the first wefie smartphone with dual front cameras featuring a 135-degree wide-angle lens.
“Around 93 million pictures are shared each day, most of them telling different stories. However, the problem is that it is really hard to get the ‘whole’ picture. We solved this problem with the first ever 135-degree ultra-wide angle lens applications in the world, for the Infinix S2 PRO,” said Infinix Mobile Southeast Asia (SEA) regional head Marcia Sun.
The Infinix S2 PRO comes with dual front cameras -- an 8-megapixel camera with a 135-degree wide angle lens and a 13-megapixel one -- and a 13-megapixel rear camera.
The device is powered by octa-core Cortex 1.3GHz, 64bit processor. The 5.2-inch IPS high-definition display is covered with 2.5D glass and the phone has a solid metal body.
Weighing 147g, the Infinix S2 PRO comes with a 3000mAh battery coupled with X-charge and XOS for fast charging. To navigate tasks, the phone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, extendable to 128GB.
Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (upgradeable) it also has a fingerprint recognition feature on the back.
Testing the market
The Infinix S2 PRO in Quartz Black and Topaz Blue will be available for pre-order online only at Lazada.co.id from May 8 to 16. It will cost 2.45 million rupiah (US$184).
“We are very excited to have Infinix as our partner and we are very proud that Infinix has chosen us as the trusted exclusive partner and distributor in Indonesia. Working with brands to bring the best products to fulfil our customers’ demands is our focus in Lazada.
“Customers are always looking for the best mobile technology and Infinix S2 PRO’s great features will be available exclusively to all our consumers in Indonesia,” said Lazada Indonesia co-chief executive officer Duri Granziol.
There will only be 1,000 units for sale initially. If demand is sufficiently high and production figures match them the Infinix S2 PRO may be sold through flash sales, open sales, offline sales. It may also be available in two additional colours -- Sunset Pink and Champagne Gold.
“We are aiming for the online market and are not rushing to push sales because we need to see the demand from users and the development of sales. We will see what the market prefers,” Sun says.
Established in 2009, Infinix Mobile was first marketed in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It has now come to Asia.
“We can see that the online community is growing, especially in Indonesia, which is why we want to reach out to this market first.
“Since Lazada is able to deliver to most areas in Indonesia, this will create opportunities for Lazada to expand in terms of products and user testimonials for Infinix Mobile,” Infinix Indonesia marketing manager Eko Susanto says.
