JUST because you don’t have the budget for the fanciest and latest smartphone doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the best smartphones have to offer.
This seems to be the value proposition Honor is making with its Honor 9 Lite, the latest addition to Honor’s line of value-driven phones.
The Honor 9 Lite comes with not just two cameras but four cameras, dual-cameras sit on each side of the phone. To top it all, it also comes with a 5.65-inch Full View display with Full HD+ resolution (2,160 x 1,080) with an 18:9 ratio display that simply allows you to see more with your phone.
Honor has put some thought into the design of the phone, keeping it slim and seamless with a double-sided 2.5D glass panel that is reflective and bright like a mirror.
For security, the phone has a fingerprint reader on the back that provides the convenience of unlocking the phone with a touch of the finger.
Regardless which side you point the camera, the dual-cameras help deliver quality images. On the front, it has a 13-Megapixel and 2-Megapixel dual-camera system that do more than snap a simple selfie, but it can also capture photos with bokeh effects and panorama selfies to take in more of the scenery.
Honor’s feature list doesn’t stop there as the Honor 9 Lite’s improved Portrait Mode 2.0 is said to be able to recognise facial contours and customise beauty effects by gender.
Similarly, on the rear, the Honor 9 Lite has a pair of 13-Megapixel and 2-Megapixel cameras that feature Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF) for quick focusing. A wide aperture mode is also present to allow users to refine the focus after it is taken.
On the inside, Honor includes EMUI 8.0 that Honor says is equipped with its Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that enhances the device’s performance.
A Kirin 659 octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM powers the phone. In terms of storage, it has 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD.
Finally, the Honor 9 Lite packs a 3,000mAh battery that is said to be power efficient thanks to Honor’s battery-saving technology.
The Honor 9 Lite will be available in two colours: Sapphire Blue and Glacier Gray at RM749.
The smartphone will be sold online in collaboration with e-commerce platform Shopee which will be running a month-long campaign with the brand to promote the Honor 9 Lite.
