Fortinet appoints ACA Pacific Technology as distributor for Malaysia & Singapore FORTINET has signed an agreement with ACA Pacific Technology to distribute Fortinet's complete suite of security solutions in Malaysia and Singapore.

ACA is a regional value-added distributor specializing in enterprise network security and storage, established in 1986.

This appointment is intended to augment Fortinet's existing distributorships with Ingram Micro, Spectrum Edge and Pacific InTech in Malaysia, and with Pacific Tech and SIS in Singapore.

George Chang (pic), Fortinet's vice president for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, said with online threats becoming more plentiful and sophisticated, enterprises have come to recognize that they cannot skimp on IT security. He added that the market for high performing yet cost-effective security solutions would continue to grow.

“We are confident that ACA Pacific Technology, with its strong base of enterprise-level network security resellers, will help us deepen penetration into enterprises in both countries and gain market share," he said.

In a statement, Fortinet said the choice of ACA over other distributors for this partnership was due to the company’s track record of success in driving network security sales, proven technical expertise and solid execution plan.

In Malaysia, ACA Pacific Technology has a solid reseller base in smaller cities and in East Malaysia, where Fortinet is trying to grow its business.

Fortinet offers an end-to-end suite of network security solutions that extends from the endpoint to the data center and from the edge to Web applications.

In addition to its core FortiGate network security platforms, Fortinet’s portfolio of solutions include WiFi access points, secure email gateways, application delivery controllers, Web application firewalls and anti-DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) appliances.

Mark Gill, ACA Pacific Technology's managing director, expressed “delight” over the opportunity to work with Fortinet.

With the agreement in place, the distributor’s primary mandate is to tap its enterprise focused channel network and experience of more than 20 years in the enterprise security space to sell Fortinet's solutions into large organizations in Malaysia and Singapore.
