Nielsen appoints Raphael Pereda as managing director for its Malaysia business

- Succeeds Richard Hall who takes on a new role in Poland
NIELSEN Malaysia is announces the appointment of Raphael Pereda (pic) as managing director with effect from Oct 1, 2017, succeeding Richard Hall.
In his new role, Pereda reports to Patrick Dodd, president of Nielsen Growth Markets Group.
Prior to this appointment, Pereda has spent the past several years in a number of leadership roles within Nielsen’s Global Services organisation in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific where he drove substantial revenue growth.
Most recently, Pereda led the Singapore Retail Measurement Services / Consumer Panel Services business, during which time he transitioned the business to significantly improved levels of client service, employee satisfaction and sustainable and profitable growth.
Previously, Pereda also worked for The NPD Group's Food and Beverage market research business in the US.
He started his career at Nielsen US in 1994.
Pereda holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from University of Illinois, Chicago and both a Masters of Business Administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management, Hong Kong and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, Chicago.
As the lead baton is passed on to Pereda, Hall will embark on a new role focused on the reinvention of Nielsen’s traditional trade measurements across the globe in which he will spearhead the development of new partnerships with retail software vendors and other technology players. Hall will be based out of Poland while leading this project.
