MAYBANK Bhd has announced the second edition of its annual financial services technology (fintech) programme, and is inviting companies from around the world to partner with it.
In a statement, the bank said it is targeting at least 200 companies to take part in the preliminary stage of #MaybankFintech2016. Applicants will then undergo shortlisting processes which will ultimately see the finalists invited to Kuala Lumpur.
The initiative is part of Maybank’s search for finance technology given its increasing importance, said Maybank head of Corporate Development and Innovation, Amran Hassan (pic).
“We are providing the ideal platform for technology companies to meet and explore potential collaboration,” he said.
“By being in #MaybankFintech2016, participants will not only get a chance to meet industry experts in the Bank, but also gain market validation and access to technical resources,” he claimed.
The inaugural #MaybankFintech2015 saw the participation of more than 100 technology companies from 10 countries – Malaysia itself, as well as Chile, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, the United States, and Vietnam.
Registration to participate in #MaybankFintech2016 will be open until Jan 22, following which the companies will go through a series of preliminary evaluations. The grand finale will be held sometime in March.
