- Beat Oman Telecommunications Company’s Omantel TV service and Slovenia’s TS Media
TELEKOM Malaysia Berhad (TM), through its HyppTV service became the first Malaysian IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) company to win an award at the TV Connect Industry Awards (previously known as IP&TV Industry awards) in Mayfair, London recently.
TM won for the Best Live Online TV Service or Solution, the company said in a statement.
“This recognition is truly a momentous occasion for us – this conferment came at the perfect time (because) we just celebrated UniFi’s third anniversary last month,” said Jeremy Kung, executive vice president of New Media at TM, referring to TM’s high-speed broadband service.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our HyppTV subscribers for their continuous support and trust in us,” he added.
At last year’s IP&TV Industry Awards 2012, HyppTV came second best in the Best Service Growth Achievement category, going ahead against companies such as AT&T U-Verse TV, BT Vision and ZTE Corporation’s Jiangsu Telecom ITV, TM said.
This time, HyppTV won against the likes of Oman Telecommunications Company’s Omantel TV service and Slovenia’s TS Media.
HyppTV offers 107 channels – with 20 channels in High Definition (HD) – consisting of 72 premium linear channels, 15 Video-On-Demand (VOD) genres and 20 interactive channels.
