InterContinental signs up for TM’s Hospitality Entertainment Solution

TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd (TM) said it has signed a service agreement with InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur for the provision of its Hospitality Entertainment Solution.

The solution is a package which consists of In-Building Broadband Solution (IBS) and TM’s IPTV (Internet Protocol television) service HyppTV, all powered by its high-speed broadband (HSBB) network connectivity.

The solution is targeted at hospitality industry players; hotel businesses, retreat and resort owners/operators; hospitals; apartments, condominiums, and any high-tenancy buildings that require wired/ wireless Internet access and uninterrupted TV viewing.

With this, InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur became the first five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur to subscribe to the solution, TM said in a statement.

“The agreement today signifies a revolution for the Malaysian hospitality industry,” declared Sharliza Mohd Haris, state general manager, TM Kuala Lumpur.

“This comprehensive solution is exclusively developed to improve hotel guest’s staying experience and to ease the hotel’s technical management.

“It provides high-speed broadband connectivity and international level entertainment through HyppTV so the hotel can focus on its expertise – providing comfort and friendly services to its customers while TM will ensure that the technical support is readily available,” she added.

InterContinental will be able to offer its guests ‘plug-and-play’ Internet access, while business guests can also enjoy secured access to their corporate intranet. The service agreement covers all areas of the establishment including its 473 guest rooms.

Hotels and establishments subscribing to the solution are offered up to 66 HyppTV channels to choose, including nine Free To Air (FTA) channels and 57 premium channels, TM.
