ZONE Telecom Pte Ltd said it has partnered AliCloud and Microsoft to expand its suite of cloud solutions to cater to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore, as well as to reach out to larger international markets.

According to research firm IDC, the cloud computing market in Singapore is forecast to grow to about US$1 billion (S$1.4 billion) by 2017, the ICT services provider said in a statement.

The cloud allows SMEs to deploy and reap the benefits of enterprise-grade IT capabilities at affordable costs, the company added.

Zone will offer direct access to the suite of cloud services provided by AliCloud for compute resources and Microsoft for a range of business productivity applications like Microsoft Office.

“Our partnership with AliCloud allows us to expand our footprint regionally and internationally to serve our customers in their IT needs when they expand into the region,” he added.

Zone said it is venturing into the Thai market by the third quarter of 2016.

Zone Telecom was incorporated in Singapore in March 2000 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of e-Kong Group Ltd, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with operations spanning China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.

In 2000, ZONE was established as the first service-based operator (SBO) licensed by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).

Since its inception 16 years ago, Zone has evolved from an IDD company to an information and communications company and also a CSP (cloud service provider).

Today, it offers a full suite of business solutions for SMEs including voice, Internet, data, hosting and the cloud.
