GfK Asia announces new GM for Malaysia office

  • 20-year ICT industry veteran Selinna Chin also spent 18yrs at IDC
  • Responsible for running GfK Malaysia office and leading the local research team

GfK Asia announces new GM for Malaysia officeMARKET research company GfK has appointed Selinna Chin (pic) as general manager of GfK Malaysia with immediate effect.
 
Chin has nearly 20 years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, 18 of which have been dedicated to market research, GfK said in a statement.
 
Prior to joining GfK, she spent 18 years with IDC, where her last held position was vice president for emerging Asean markets. She started off as a consultant in November 1993 and subsequently moved up the ranks over the years to become country manager for Malaysia in October 1998, before expanding her responsibilities to cover the other Asean markets.
 
In her new role, Chin is responsible for the day-to-day running of the GfK Malaysia office and leading the local team to achieve greater market research excellence. She will be reporting directly to Stanley Kee, managing director for South-East Asia.
 
“Selinna has an impressive track record in the market research arena and boasts many accomplishments under her belt,” said Kee.
 
“Her extensive background and experience in the ICT industry coupled with her deep understanding of the trade make her the ideal candidate to take charge of GfK’s business in Malaysia.”
