New AIMS facility powers up at CyberjayaCARRIER-neutral data center operator and managed services provider AIMS Group has announced a new 34,500 sq ft state-of-the- art ‘CJ1’ data center located in Cyberjaya, expanding capacity by 92%.

AIMS group chief executive officer Chiew Kok Hin (pic) said the new facility is the company’s response to the growing demand for business IT infrastructure and application hosting services.

“Here at CJ1 we provide a combination of a secure, top-class redundancy and supreme connectivity ecosystem for our customers to host their business applications and critical systems,” he said in a statement.

“The expansion to Cyberjaya is a natural tactical move as it is a premier IT hub market in Malaysia and also a priority location for many multinational companies.”

Chiew also said that the new facility was in line with the Malaysian Government’s Entry Point Project 3 (EPP3) as a subsidiary of National Key Economic Area (NKEA) under the Economic Transformation Program (ETP), which aims to position Malaysia as a world-class data center hub.

New AIMS facility powers up at Cyberjaya“EPP3 aims to enhance the global visibility to provide capabilities in Malaysian projects that will catalyze the local ICT market. AIMS want to continue playing a major part by being a key data center operator that ensures that its direction and business operations are aligned with the Government’s nation building plans via the EPP3 program for the ICT sector,” he said.

With CJ1, AIMS now operates from four separate sites within peninsular Malaysia, with added capabilities for site recovery. Its Cyberjaya data center is now fully operational and will be supporting customers starting October this year.

The green-centric CJ1 facility is a Tier III and Fit-for-Purpose data center designed from the ground up with the latest advancements in energy efficient data center management, business continuity, resiliency, security, disaster recovery services, the company claimed.

It also offers the services of a 24-hour facilities management team on site, to help organizations efficiently manage growth while reducing costs and securely mitigating risk. The datacenter is also layered with reliable and resilient fiber ring that interconnects CJ1 to AIMS in Menara Aik Hua.
