Vserv.mobi beefs up SEA asia management team

- 5 new additions to the SEA team spanning 4 markets
- To further accelerate company’s continued expansion
RIDING on rapid mobile user growth and fast adoption of mobile advertising in emerging markets, mobile advertising exchange Vserv.mobi, recently announced a series of senior appointments across South-East Asia.
The new hires spanning Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand form the core leadership team for the region and it intednded to capture the next wave of opportunities and further accelerate the company’s continued expansion.
Vikas Gulati (pic), South-East Asia vice president for Vserv.mobi expresssed excitement over the five new additions, who bring with them years of experience in the advertising and digital space, as well as sound understanding and knowledge of their respective markets.
He noted that the region is poised for exponential growth in mobile advertising due to rapid smartphone and mobile internet penetration. In the first three months of 2014, smartphone sales hit 43% growth year-on-year and the region has over 200 million mobile internet users.
“With the right leadership and stronger regional presence, we are confident to capitalize on the tremendous momentum that Vserv.mobi is experiencing so far as the one of the leading mobile ad exchange to advertisers, developers, publishers and Telcos,” he added.
The new appointments are:
Tony Kan, business director, Malaysia
Tony brings 12 years of media sales, business development and consulting experience with leading local and international media owners in Malaysia, including Catcha Media Berhad and Asia Media.
His experience covers various sectors such as Technology, Airlines, FMCG, Financial, Entertainment, Consumer Electronics, Luxury, Automobiles, Beverages, Telecommunications, Educations, Retails and others.
At Vserv.mobi, he will steer the Sales and Marketing strategies for the Malaysia market and drive business direction.
Eva Soputan, country manager, Indonesia
As a media industry veteran, Eva brings with her 15 years of experience in the areas of advertising sales, business planning and development.
Having worked in both of the traditional (broadcast and print) and digital advertising sector with global leading companies such as Telkomsel and Exponential Interactive.
She is responsible to establish and reinforce Vserv.mobi’s position as the leading mobile ad exchange in Indonesia through revenue generation and continuously strengthening publisher relationship.
Rovy Rivera, business director, Philippines
Rovy has more than 14 years of digital marketing, sales, customer service and business development experience in a wide array of sectors including Telco, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), Beauty and Cosmetic, Consumer Electronics and Entertainment.
His previous experience with Adz Central, Exponential Interactive and Benny D. Antiporda equipped him with understanding and knowledge in digital and mobile marketing. As a digital sales veteran, he was among industry pioneers who successfully introduced new digital solutions into the Philippines market.
Rovy joins Vserv.mobi as a business director. He will helm the business development and sales functions in Philippines.
Suwaree Yeesunyem, business development director, Thailand
Having worked with broadcast company BBTV New Media and online and mobile content provider Sanook Online, Yeesunyem boasts ten years of experience in digital and advertising media industry.
She will spearhead business development with local premium publishers helping accelerate Vserv.mobi’s penetration with mobile content providers in Thailand. Thailand remains a lucrative market for premium mobile content and she will work with local mobile content players to help them market their products via the company’s exchange.
Rati Otrakul, sales director, Thailand
Otrakul has over 13 years of experience in the media industry, having worked with MCN Asia, Admax Network, Inmobi and other leading media companies.
She specialises in marketing, sales and business development, and has strategic understanding of integrated media engagement of Offline media (Prints, TV, events) and Digital Media (social media, online and mobile media).
As sales director, she will be tasked with building and further reinforcing the market awareness of mobile advertising.
