Logitech tries to woo pro eSports players with new devices

Logitech is upping its game in the gaming space with two new products for eSports gamers

THE first is the Logitech G Pro gaming mouse that features what Logitech claims to be its most accurate optical gaming sensor that provides pixel-precise accuracy, a determinant if players live or die on the battlefield.

Built to be durable and lightweight, the G Pro builds upon the heritage of Logitech’s G100 and G303 mice, taking on the shape of the former and combining it with the speed and accuracy of the latter.

Logitech said the mouse has zero smoothing, filtering and is able to accelerate across the entire DPI (dots per inch) range, a measure of how sensitive the mouse is, from 200 up to 12,000 DPI.

A metal spring button tensioning system enhances the consistency of the left and right mouse buttons while reducing the force required to click, helping deliver reliable click performance when you need it during the highest level of competition.

The G Pro gaming mouse is already available in Malaysia at a suggested retail price of US$76 (RM329).

Just as the mice acts as an extension of the player’s aim in the game, the keyboard just as crucial. To this end, Logitech introduced the G Pro mechanical gaming keyboard.

The keyboard was designed in collaboration with top eSports athletes, taking in their feedback on what a high-performance keyboard should possess.

Using Logitech’s exclusive Romer-G mechanical switches the keyboard is said to be built for professional grade performance. Logitech in fact, claims that the switches register key presses up to 25% faster actuation than a standard mechanical keyboard and is quieter too.

Professional players can’t bear to leave their keyboards at home, so Logitech has resolved that problem that designing the G Pro mechanical keyboard to be compact and easy to pack for tournaments and travel. It is said to be reinforced with a steel back plate for added stability and durability.

Adding to that is a detachable cable system that ensures that the cable won’t break at the connection point when transported.

There is also a high degree of customisability to the keyboard. Using the optional Logitech Gaming Software, players can select and personalise their individual key light from more than 16.8 million colours as well as save a lighting pattern to the keyboard’s memory.

Like the G Pro mouse, the G Pro mechanical gaming keyboard is already available in Malaysia now for a suggested retail price of US$144 (RM629).
