“MYHackathon 2022 Cohort 2 has succeeded in attracting 268 participants from various groups and registered companies with different speciality backgrounds from all over Malaysia,” said Aminuddin Hassim, Mosti secretary-general.

Four winners were named, each for addressing problem statements that were previously announced by ministries and government agencies as ways to improve their working process and issues that they faced, Mosti said.

“Cradle will keep upholding the government’s aspiration to become one of the top 20 best startup ecosystems in the world by 2030 under Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER) 2021-2030,” said Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, Crade group CEO.

Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd. (Cradle) is the organising agency for MYStartup initiative and MYHackathon 2022.

MYHackathon 2022 Cohort 2 is one of many programmes under the national initiative, MYStartup, which started last year. It aims to support early-stage startups to boost their business growth through a capacity-building programme.

To date, more than 5,000 startups and individuals had received benefits from this initiative either in the form of knowledge sharing, coaching sessions and even startup grants.

During the MYHackathon 2022, all participants went through a two-week boot camp and one-to-one mentoring session with world-class mentors before 20 finalists were chosen for the final round of pitching at Rekascape, Cyberjaya.

This year, MYHackathon saw over 700 applications from individuals and startups.
