MICROSOFT Malaysia has officially launched the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, the first phones to run on its Windows 10 operating system, claiming that they worked like PCs and were aimed at business professionals.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL come with features such as Continuum (the ability to turn your phone into a big-screen projector and a productivity tool with the use of a Microsoft Display Dock) and Windows Hello beta (the ability to unlock the device with the use of an iris scanner).

“Business professionals who want a premium phone that can work like a PC now have the perfect partner for their Windows devices in Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL,” said Jon French, general manager, Microsoft Mobile Device Sales (MMDS) Asia Pacific.

“With full Windows 10 and features like Continuum for phone, it’s easy to do more than ever from your phone whether you’re in the office, at home, or on the road,” he added.

The company also announced a partnership with Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd to launch special plans that bundle the smartphones.

In addition, Digi will be also offering a special bundle for the upcoming Microsoft Lumia 550, which Microsoft said would be the most affordable 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/ Long-Term Evolution) Lumia smartphone.

The Lumia 950 (pic above) and Lumia 950 XL feature a QuadHD AMOLED display featuring up to 564ppi, which means photos, videos and even simple reading show up well, even in sunlight, Microsoft said.

Microsoft’s PureView technology is built into both their cameras, boasting a 20MP sensor and triple LED natural flash.

The camera captures the perfect image, even in the most challenging conditions, and those photos can be automatically synced across all Windows 10 devices with the Windows Photo app and shared easily with friends and family, the company added.
