Capital expenditure
Despite the challenges Celcom faces in terms of growing its prepaid segment and its overall profitability, the company remains committed to invest on its network.
During the third quarter, it allocated RM440 million in capital expenditure (capex), and for the nine month period, its capex was at RM886 million.
This is significantly more than what both Maxis and Digi have invested.

As at Q3 2016, Maxis’ 4G LTE network has a population coverage of 81%. This was followed by Digi with 78% and Celcom at 72%.
