PlayStation VR Beat Saber bundle to swing into Malaysia May 10

SONY Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch (SIES) announced recently that it will be releasing a PlayStation VR (PSVR) bundle featuring Beat Saber.

The PSVR Beat Saber All-in-One Pack will be available to Malaysians on May 10 at a suggested retail price of US$333.74 (RM1,379), and will include a PSVR Headset, a PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move Motion Controllers and a digital copy Beat Saber.

It’s probably the most complete way for PlayStation owners to get into Beat Saber. Developed by Czech-Slovak-based indie studio Beat Games, the game is one of the most popular VR titles out there, gaining immense popularity upon its launch on the Steam platform for PCs last year.

It has won multiple game awards, including Best VR/AR Game in the Game Developers Choice Awards. Beat Saber was launched for the PlayStation 4 in November 2018.

The game is what happens when you combine Star Wars’ lightsabers with Dance Dance Revolution. Players wield a pair of red and blue lightsabers to slash at approaching blocks in sync with the music, with each block indicating the colour it needs to be slashed with as well as the direction. It’s a unique take on rhythm games, and like Dance Dance Revolution, it’s good exercise.

Beat Saber can also be purchased on the PlayStation Store for RM125, for those already owning a PSVR unit.
