Mindtera raises seed funding in a round led by East Ventures

  • Hustle Fund, Henry Hendrawan, other angels participated
  • Funds will go to strengthening product, team, new features

Tita Ardiati, chief executive officer (l) and co-founder of Mindtera and Bayu Bhaskoro, chief marketing officer & co-founder of Mindtera (r))Indonesia-based personal growth learning platform, Mindtera, said it has secured an undisclosed seed funding round from East Ventures, with participation from Silicon Valley-based Hustle Fund, Henry Hendrawan and other prominent angels from the tech industry.

In a statement, Mindtera said the investment will accelerate its mission to help people live their best lives by increasing awareness and providing access to curated personal growth learning curriculums across key areas of life such as family, love and work.

Citing Harvard Business Review, Mindtera said emotional intelligence (EQ) is twice as important as other skills to achieve personal growth and well-being.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, EQ is said to help society adapt with the unprecedented change and uncertainty, it added.

Mindtera said it aims to target this imbalance by designing and building its product around its proprietary multiple-intelligence approach.

“As the first institutional VC-funded personal growth learning platform in Indonesia, we want to bring life-changing content to more corporates and people.

“Expect accessibility, relevance and community in new digital formats that will improve Indonesia’s and the region’s personal well-being quotient,” said Tita Ardiati, chief executive officer and co-founder of Mindtera.

The company said it aims to deliver emotional, social and physical intelligences in bite-sized digital formats for both individual and corporate clients.

It claimed that its proprietary multiple-intelligence curriculum and tools have been validated scientifically and clinically by coaches, educators and psychologists.

It will also build communities as a daily support system for its clients, it said.

“The fresh funding will be used to strengthen the product and technology team, launch more exciting features, accelerate brand awareness, and build capacity in responding to market needs,” said Bayu Bhaskoro, chief marketing officer and co-founder of Mindtera.

Bayu Bhaskoro, a 10-year senior creative professional in multinational advertising agencies, partnered with Tita Ardiati to establish Mindtera.

As a certified life coach and a senior statistician with more than 14 years of work experience in multinational research agencies, Tita and her team of 15 employees work in product, engineering, life coaches, psychologists and content.

“Ardiati deeply understands the issues our mass young society is facing,” said Melisa Irene, partner at East Ventures.

“We believe Mindtera will pave the way to change our societal understanding about holistic intelligence, and equip people with the right tools so they can achieve fulfillment in life.”

“We are proud to back Tita and the Mindtera team as they are tackling one of the most important societal problems; helping humans live their best lives and equipping them with the skills to build strong and resilient relationships with their communities,” said Shiyan Koh, general partner and co-founder of Hustle Fund.
